Nice helmets. Today it's hard to get a bad helmet and all base models are about the same. The ar10 and ac12 are close to the same but I could get the black, which is why I wanted it.

ahhh don't say.. i was looking for helemts trying to decided closed or open faced.... they are saying dale earnhardt may have survived if he had a full face helmet....

 

I thought Earnhardt died because his neck snapped not because his face was smashed.

 

Earnhardt died of a Bascal(sp) skull fracture, bascially the spine snaps off the base of your skull. It is cause by the head moving forward in a high speed crash, your body is strapped to the seat and doesn't move but you head moves forward with so much velocity it causes the fracture.

It could of been prevented by wearing the Hanz device which attaches your helmet to your body preventing your head from flying forward. The slightly ironic part to all this is Earnhardt was dead set against using this device as he thought it would do more harm than good, it is now manditory is many autosports racing that have high speeds.

Nice helmet tho...I'd pick up a tinted visor or something, unless you can kit sunglasses with your helmet.
