I know for best competitive performance an oil change before drag racing would be best.

Racing probably tears up the oil quickly and makes it dirty running at high rpms.

I have a Cobalt SS daily driver and I am wondering if I should change my oil before going to the drag strip for the first time or after. I feel like if I change the oil before racing, it will be good for my car's performance, but after the oil will be "spoiled".

 

its not that hard on the oil. Most people treat their cars worse with daily driving then on the dragstrip

 

why dont u just go with the DIC?

 

I do use the DIC, it is nearing time for an oil change 20% and I want to go to the track soon. Both things happening at similar times. Probably doesn't matter either way as I don't need to keep the car for a million miles and don't need to win any racing competitions.

 

2 seasons of racing and I only went by the DIC.
