Old Track=x.xx1/8th?

What's up guys?

Going to my local track this Sunday....Some of you guys probably have heard of George Ray's Wildcat HotRod Dragstrip, in Paragould Arkansas. Last Heads-up strip in the world. And it's gonna be the first time to the track with my balt. Again, this strip is ran on every sunday of the year, and hasn't been resurfaced since '78...so, I dunno what my 60' and ET's are gonna look like..but hopefully Mid 9's. I'm completely stock. The whole track is concrete also..so who knows what it's gonna turn out?! Wish me luck, and if you guys have any stock times..post it up, I'm very interested in seeing what you guys run in the 1/8. Oh yeah, and I am pretty sure that I have the driver mod.

We have a 1/8 mile down here, its part of an old airport runway, track prep is bad but getting better and they do H/U only. Its fun for practice, but not great. Best time for me so far was a 9.1 at just under 80mph with mods in sig. That was a 2.2 60 ft as well.

Was that in stock form, or w/your mods that you have now?

Well, that's not too bad... I'm guessing you were hoping high-mid 8's? 60' was actually pretty good.

No, that was well before the spray. It was also on my old tires, 225/40 KDWs. Car would be much quicker now, but the clutch isn't holding like it used to when shifting hard, so no more track for me until I get an Exedy sticker on the car.

I did go there with my dad to work on tuning his nitrous setup on his truck, and made one pass for the hell of it. With a soft launch and only spraying when firmly in second gear I was able to trap 82mph. The car will do 88-90 traps out there once I have a good clutch again.

Yeah, I'd like to see an 8.8-8.9 with no spray. It can be done, with a better launch. I think I can hit a 2.0 60 foot, the car will do it. I actually did it once but the cluctch got hot and wouldn't hold after the 1-2 shift, botched the run. I pulled a 9.8 I think, with a 2.0 60 ft

Wow, that's great...so are you sea level, or are you at pretty low altitudes? Whaddya think the temp and Humidity was that day? Cause, it looks like it's gonna be a pretty dry 90 degrees this sunday for me, and it's 265 ft. above SL. So I don't think I'll have that much trouble hittin' 9's, unless like I stated, I may not be able to hook up, ya know?

Ok, my mistake. I'm used to the 90+ degree, 100% humidity conditions down here, I forget that people go faster with less power in most other places.

thats pretty damn good. A feller around these parts could only muster a 9.2 w/ S2/Intake

edit-(hick talk intended)

yea i'm pretty much at sea level and it was pretty chilly that day. that would be the reason why. i'm going today in like 15 min to see if i can get any better. i'm taking my spare and other junk out. which i didnt do the first time. the first time i didnt take anything out and was running a full tank. today i'm going on a little less than half a tank and taking everything out. ie carpet and spare basically. i want a 14.0 so bad. which i think is possible with a better 60'

Be sure to post your run..good or bad!!

P.S: What's with some of these guys puttin ice bags on the blower? Do I need to let the car cool down before I do this to prevent cracks or damage to anything?

i posted my time in the drag times. ended up with about the same quarter cause it was warmer. i think i finished .04 over the 14.22 with a 14.26. but my 1/8th was 9.25 so that was better. and it just helps with the heat soak of the blower. the warmer it is the less efficient it performs. let it cool for a little after each run. hood open. thats all i do

Just got back from the track....10.13 was my best, as far as me and my GF could tell.....I ran 4 times, and we could only hear two of my times...(no time slips, no info at all) the 10.13 was my very first run...and my last was my best, but traction stayed an issue, so I figure I may have gotten a 9.8 or so.
