PayJs STOCK 2.2 visits the track.
Well lastnight was midnight madness at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, Louisiana. I was the only cobalt at this whole meet and represented pretty decent i thought...my record for the night was 2-1 and beat several cars that i was suprised by. OK time for the races.PS I have a 5spd and weigh 260 will full interior
Race 1 ME(Left) --------Jetta VR6(right)
Car# 724-----------------738
R/T .396-----------------1.699
60' 2.601-------------2.576
1/8 10.601-------------10.402
MPH 68.38--------------71.89
1000' 13.696-------------13.389
1/4 16.323-------------15.909
MPH 85.37--------------87.70
Left 1st .8892
I ending up beating this car by a car and a half but the track clock starts clocking once the car leaves the line...so if the guy would learn how to read the light then it might have been a good race.
Race 2 ChevyV8Vortec(Left)-----------Me(Right)
Car# 834-------------------------724
R/T 1.428------------------------.633
60' 2.44------------------------2.610
1/8 10.450---------------------10.694
MPH 68.75-----------------------10.694
1000' 13.522---------------------13.804
1/4 16.182---------------------16.440
MPH 83.95-----------------------84.92
Right 1st .5374
Once again I beat this truck it was a little close but i took him on the top end of the track. I really wish the track would relate the R/T in the run like normal tracks. lol
Race 3 (the loss) EclipseV6w/mods-----------(left)ME(left)
Car# 867---------------------------724
R/T .326--------------------------.459
60' 2.752------------------------2.536
1/8 10.432-----------------------10.602
MPH 71.21------------------------68.14
1000' 13.404----------------------13.707
1/4 15.945----------------------16.343
MPH 88.89-----------------------84.86
Left 1st .5311
Imust say the best race I have had in a long time, but the V6's displacement sucked my in on the top...
I have video of both in car and in stands of these races...and will be compiling a short video in the next few days..So according to my times that makes me the #2 2.2 Stock cobalt.hehe hope you guys enjoy.

Don't know if you've got a manual or auto -- for those with an automatic trans and have never been down a dragstrip: One of the best ways to launch is to floor it from an idle with the shifter in 1st (L) on the last yellow light. This will flash stall the engine and launch the car when the light turns green (about a .5 second delay). After each run check the exact times and adjust accordingly -- if your reaction time is still slow floor it a little before the last yellow light or if you're too quick floor it a little after the last yellow light.
Another reason to have the shifter in 1st (L) is that the transmission line pressure is higher when 1st (L) is selected.

ok first of all the reaction times are extremly good..and the track at midnight madness does not go yellow yellow yellow green....its pre stage, stage yellow green sooo you cant really prep like you said...and i have a manual...so if you think you can hit better RT more power to you

I wasn't giving you a lecture -- Your RTs are good! -- just trying to provide info to automatic owners.
Manual trannys take more thought to launch -- you've got to know your car really well.

I don't know any tracks that add r/t to the times. IF you want the mental vistory that you beat the two then you know you have it. You crossed the line first. Good first time out. Is it a very nice track?

of the 3 tracks around me it is the closest distance wise....but when an event is not as important to the high HP races they tend to not prep the the lanes as good...Now state Capital in baton rouge is by far one of the nicest tracks in the state..they just dump 1 million more dollars into this track, but i usually just head out there when the Hot Import Nights goes down..that is where i can hit a nice 2.2-2.3 60' and bust a 15.8 1/4 mile last night i was traping 86 and thats what i traped when i ran the 15..so my car makes up for the bad start on top end...all in all i was very pleased with the performance of the stock motor..and 2 out of 3 races won isnt that bad either.

i've never heard of a track adding the R/T at the end either. if you two agreed to race heads up w/ no times involved then you did win 2/3 races. if you didn't then you didn't win at all.

From what I can tell they were heads-up runs -- he didn't say but if they were bracket racing we would have seen the tree light at separate times for each driver. With heads-up it doesn't add RT times it just means the first two driver were caught "sleeping" as they each gave PayJ 1.3 and .8 second head starts. Those drivers had quicker cars but PayJ got to the traps before they did....and in drag racing that means he won.

if you watch the video this track gave the time of your ran and who crossed the line first...if you watch from the stands...you can see lights on top of the board and in my car cams...you see a light in the lane of the winners car...so tongiht they were going by who crossed the line first aka "Drag Racing"...and that other guy the LT dude...im going by the official 1.4 times thread that is posted on this forum...and yes i am the #2 STOCK!!!! cobalt 2.2 you have a 2.2 and you are not stock thus making you NOT #2 or #1...if you look at the thread you will see two catagories a 2.2 STOCK and a 2.2 MODDED...
