Ran 13.6-13.7's at 103-104 at Milan

Waiting till someone makes a clutch that will hold... ACT or RPS??

Besides, I heard that others had some issues with there Stage 2+ and Stage 3+ clutches slipping at IDD7 too or not going into 2nd gear. Not sure if that was true. I thought I was the only one with a clutch issue.

I now have the Spec Stage3+, NO issues at all other than the stock clutch system is a bitch to bleed. When you have the bigger rated clutch, absolutely NO air can be in the system.
I was dropping the clutch at 3500rpm but suffered tire spin every pass. Best 60' was 1.88
13.11@106.78 I had NO slipping at all. I will say one thing though, the stage 3+ is OVERKILL for our cars and will take a long time to fully break in. It is a very hard material and with 500 miles on mine, it barely showed any wear of ever being used or broke in!!

As for clutch break-in, 500 miles on the highway are the same as sitting in your driveway at idle

These stage 3's are going to take 1000+ city miles using the clutch often. At first they will heat up and might slip but with wear and break-in, the will improve. Mine is getting better and better, just need to find my air leak in the system

+1. Mine feels like it needs to be bled again, what a pain.
looks like I might still have to keep breaking it in.... more track time..
Ya, it felt like it was slipping bad after a nice cool down when I changed over my tires... Drove it home and it felt like it was slipping even worse. Today it seems better. I guess Rob is right..... needs a ton of breakin or something.... I thought I glazed the clutch, but it might be air inthe system also and more time to fully breakin.

I might need to talk to about some upgraded axels.... that's my next worry. I'd rather have a spare set incase of anything next time at the track. I plan on going to our May 13th and May 27th events here at Milan again.
Congrats on the great times you guys ran dispite your air in the systems. Looks like it was a great time.

Believe me, if I'm wrong and I have any problems related to spec, I'll be one of the first to come in and tell everyone about it. There's been ALOT of people on the F-body and Cobra boards that have had no problems with spec.

Rob, the Corvette club/MI f-body club has the track rented in the morning on May13th. 8am-12noon then its a free for all Test and Tune day from noon till close for us. Not sure how many runs we will get in that day with 100 f-bodies and vettes around, but it will be fun.
We also have the track rented again on May 27th for our local Motown muscle event like I went to last Sat.
Here is the info

If May13th turns out to be crappy, we have tons of test in tune to do in the morning during the other event. ALL are Welcome to attend at Milan. Non-members it's $40....
The timeslips I posted were from this type of event and I actually took 4th place in my class and $20..

LOL... Ya, I tried that same thing, but a different result.
Are you guys using the parking break at all? Trying to do a 2nd gear burnout in these cars suck. I'm so use to RWD, this FWD thing is way different.

The clutch just spun and no tire spin.

Yes, we're using the parking brake. And yes, FWD is much harder to launch! I found out how hard launching a FWD Manual Transmission is, since IDDVII was my first time with this car and the first time with a stick at the track! Once you start getting the pattern of it, the times start to drop.

Daren,
This is all you have to do,
Pull front wheels into water and make sure the back ones stay in the DRY pavement.
Pull park brake till you think you can't pull it anymore, then pull it some more!
Rev to 2500 - 3000 rpm and dump/sidestep clutch and floor the throttle. Hold at 5500 to 6000 for 5-15secs depending on the temp of the track.
Release park brake and roll out of waterboxholding 6500 rpm's
Thats it, nothing to it!!
