Times - Alabama International Dragway - Test & Tune - May 28th
Well yesterday I decided to get to the track before the bills started rolling in. Meet a fellow Cobalt owner who was at the track for the first time in her SS S/C. If she reads this...GREAT JOB learning. You knocked your times down pretty quickly. If you planted third the first time we raced you would've jumped ahead of me. But yeah felt good to win at least one race. Stupid mustangs were constantly picking on me. Just remember work on your launch, and just make sure you put the transmission in gear even if it takes you a minute...just plant your gears.
Yesterday was my 3rd day drag racing and I learned some tips in the off season and it paid off. I NEVER went above a 1 sec R/T. YAY! But good god I was all over the track three runs due to a sucky prep job, and sucky conti tires.
I could not freaking break 16s all day which was pissing me off since I know the car is capable of it.
Track Conditions:
90 degrees
46% humidity(sp?)
Best times:
R/T - .630
60' - 2.402
1/4 - 16.005 <-
Got 17 runs in...the 1/4's in order.
16.559(left everything in the trunk for this run just adjusted air pressure to 29)
16.135
16.005
16.096
16.192
16.398
16.092
16.052
16.228
16.061
16.148
16.421
16.537
16.146
16.111
16.221
16.393
Couple pictures:
Staging...
Staged(forgot those stupid running lights...ran a 16.3)
How's my azz?
In line waiting....and waiting
Cooling off
Had a fun day...even though I went solo and burned to death from the heat. Meet a fellow cobalt owner with a good attitude.

I ran 2.4s all day long! And I know how crappy the contis are, but that will soon change when I can get some better tires. Installation will be free since I'll do it...so I just need to come up with the money for the tires.
I should've been in the high 15s as is, but look at the track conditions. LOL! Now if it was a Friday night...I'd be busting ricers(we got a ton at the track) left and right along with all the other 16 second vehicles with fart cans and big wings. Just decided to go yesterday to get as many runs in and know where I am. I want to go this Friday, but yeah...bills first fun later.
