Wow, those are really good times for a base. Impressive my friend. Just imagine, if you were to get your 60 ft down, thats like a 15.4.

i know, i hit that at like 1:30 and then spent the rest of the time til 5 trying to break 15.5's but, i look at is this way, a few minor bolt ons and some suspension work and i'll break 14 in no time...then i think we may need to add some boost to the equation.

Thats incredible. Hard to believe but ---well I am not calling you a liar but posting a slip would be icing on the cake.

I am calling out any 2.2L Cobalts in Calgary to see how close they can get to my 2.4L

I better be 0.3 faster!! (I'd be happy being 0.7 faster )

i was #205, I'm sure one of my hall mates has a scanner, i should be able to get the slip up. The car is as base as a base can be. 06 Laser Blue Cobalt LS, 5-spd, spoiler, floor mats, and GM's body protectant... that's it, just tinted windows, an exhaust tip and shorty antenna

Yeah pretty good jump. You beat the time I got in my 2.4 (first time at track) and almost caught the time I got in the SS/SC (3rd run ever, first time ever driving an SS/SC) they were 10.1 and 9.5 respectively. Nothing special but I will be working on my driving.

15.6 @86mph is not hard to believe at all. With no options, the car is going to be pretty light. My G5 GT weighs 2787lbs with no sunroof so I'm sure he's 100lbs or more less. 145hp and 155lbs-ft can pull that off with a good driver.

I have one of his 15.8 runs in my gallery. There were a bunch of us there so it would be awful hard to lie about the run.

Not calling anyone a liar.....witnesses are great but I just want a slip. Thanks

And 06G5GT---did you weigh your car? My 2.4L SS has no options but its a few lbs over 2800.

And patathSS-- I wasn't there. Just trying to figure out what he'd run at my track (with the high elevation) to compare to mine.

Far as I know I have been the only Cobalt ever at my track, so I want to see one run.

The weight comes from the registration of the car. Some of the techs at work race every summer and it seems the NB registration weight is pretty accurate. 1264kgs actually.

Your yearly registration fee is by weight? I knew some Americans have this......so how much do you pay?

Just a flat fee in Alberta.

I would respectfully suggest that not ever single Cobatl model is weighed.

I mean you'd have LS, LT, LTZ, SS and S/C SS. Then throw in manuals/autos. It could get ridiculous!

Your car sounds like the weight of a LS coupe. Any scales around your place? Like on the highway? We have self weigh scales to the south and east of Calgary--and I have weighed mine.

I thought that probe was gonna do some serious stuff. I guess the kid doesn't know that you have to do something under the hood to make it go faster. Imagine that...

Ok...the time of truth, here it is, the proof of the apparently unbelieveable run. I am car number 205, right lane. Unfortuneately, the slip is yellow cuz i lost this race but i increased the contrast a bit so people can read it.
