Was at the track with my TC

So I went to willow springs grudge match drags last night. Its a 1000ft drag and we about 2600ft above sea level. I signed up the started scoping out the competition. They had v6, altimas, chargers, challengers, stangs, infinities, bmw(older 5), ser, turbo hondas, big block steet draq cars and etc. So Im nodding my head happily because tonight will a glorious night for my cobalt for the most part.

So I jumped in the hot pits and end up lining up with a honda...na build honda civic. We got to the tree. Im all pump cause THIS IS SPARTA!!! right. This is gonna be my first kill of many tonight, and Im not being cocky cause i pretty know what these guys got, especially after watching some of them run.

So we got to the tree we line up..the track guy is left ready, right ready...the tree counts down..the civic started 2 stepping...Im holding my revs....and boom we launch i flew out the gate spinning...shifted to 2nd spinned some more but now im moving hard shift to 3rd and POP!. My gear lever goes limp. WTF. I came up off the throttle. Coasted to side. I got towed off the track. So my buddy who was with me followed me home cause the car could have drive since it was stuck in 3rd.

I ripped up the shifter and found the shifter cable clip broken in half. *sigh* Moral of the story upgrade your shifter cable clip before you go fishing!!!
