used to do that before weigh ins for wrestling. it usually yeilded .8 to 1.4 pounds. i took a 2 pounder one time. you should have seen the look on my coaches face when i came back to weigh in!

I've never been much for this approach. I've always been one to want to see what my car can do the way I drive it everyday. When I go to the track I go with the car loaded down like it is everyday. Not that I have a lot in it but I don't take anything out. Hell there are usually even drinks in the cup holders still. I usually have a 1/2 tank of gas too. I don't want to tell somebody my best was after I gutted the car. I'd rather say my best time was achieved the way I drive it everyday.

I think this boils down to not people trying to have the fastest car by reducing weight...but maybe that taking all the weight out can make a drag day or especially a road course day be just that much more fun. Having your car feel a little more nimble or quicker is always smile enducing. I love putting a new mod on my car and feeling the difference...I think this is what they might be getting at. I for one would never go to these lengths to reduce weight for my DD car.... Okay....maybe for a full race day at a track...just once..... be fun! Besides that no thanks.
