2.2 LS automatic transmission problems???

I just changed my oil, in doing so my driveway has a slight slant to it. I put the car in neutral and pushed it about 5 feet to be more level. I always take the car for a short drive to make sure everything is good. Car was running great (as normal) but shifting very hard with hesitation. After a while it was better, so I drove it to work (30 miles) with no problems. On the drive home it started acting up right away, and shifting hard. I am thinking about taking it to Oreillys to get the codes read. Right know we are down to my 1986 T Bird as the only reliable driver, with our 1994 Lincoln Towncar in the shop, and my wife is going nuts. BTW the car has 48K, with only the drivetrain covered by warranty, and the dealer wants $100 for diagnosing if it isn't in the drivetrain. Any ideas???
