Okay so I'm have issues with my 2007 cobalt 2.2L LT 5 speed Manual trans. So I changed both wheel bearings on the front. And I'm still getting a humming noise from the front passenger side. So ill be driving and the noise wont be noticeable till I hit about 55mph+ ive replaced brakes rotors. Could it be a possible bent Cv Axle? James Thanks

 

Do you feel vibration the same frequency as the humming sound? If your axle was bent for some reason and causing humming I'd imagine you'd feel the off balance. Could also be something in your transmission. Have you checked your fluid level or do you know of any leaks?

 

Yes I feel a slight vibration when the humming begins. And no leaks since I replaced the CV seal. Fluid level is full. Pull top plug. I did purchase a new CV axle will update later.

​​​​​​Yes there are 2 plugs on a manual transmission theres a higher plug to check and lower plug to drain. Update: Change CV Axle no change in humming. But vibration has stopped. 🤔

 

I know about the fill port on the top of the transmission, the plug on the side that you fill to for the proper fluid level, and lower plug for draining. I just didn't know what you meant by "Pull top plug." I'm now assuming you meant you filled the transmission to the plug that is halfway up the side of the transmission.

I still think you could be possibly hearing gear noise or some other potential issue in the transmission.
