2nd gear is destroyed

I put 110 racing gas in my 2.4L cobalt to see if it made any difference and I went up the street then back, I shifted from 1st to 2nd at redline then it made that awful noise of a bad shift. Now when I shift to 2nd it just pops back into neutral. Im guessing this isnt covered under warranty and Im guessing this wont be cheap. What else do I need to know?

Syncro is SHOT! Is that trans the Getrag F23? If it is its the same that I had in my 01 Cav Z24 in which I blew 3 2nd gear syncros.

THATS WHAT MY DAD SAID! Is that easy to replace or will the dealer not have a tantrum?

Wasnt because of fuel. Since the day I got it, when i shifted from 1st to 2nd I would grind it or get that sound a couple times a month (I learned to drive stick with this car). Well now I drive perfect and shift smoothly but it still went out. I really hope I can get this fixed or replaced for cheap or warranty.

The car was tuned on 93 gas. I put 1 gallon of 110 when the tank was almost empty. I drove it all out yesterday and I felt no performance increase. Lets get back on the subject of how much this will or wont cost me please, I dont have much money to spend right now

Not easy at all bro. 2 options would have it rebuilt or do what I did and buy one from a yard. I picked up a used F23 twice for $350.

take it in, tell them its popping out of 2nd gear. dont let them know you put 110 in it, they will warrenty the tranny but avoid your emmissions warrenty as 110 in leaded and destroys oxogen sensors and the cat.

I agree with the others, what harm do you run by taking it in? You have nothing to loose by taking it in and everything to gain if they warrenty it.
