9-3 and cobalt ss trans interchangeable?

9-3 and cobalt ss trans interchangeable?

are the 99-2005 saab 9-3 f35's interchangeable with the ss transmission? down here i can pick up a used saab trans much cheaper than an ss's.

It looks like the bell housing is kind of different look it up on Wikipedia

i honestly cannot tell the difference between the m/t saab f35 and the gm f35. ive seen the autos look completely different. I would be surprised if they had the same linkages even. i just cant find a definite answer

They have to be the same bell housin since the b207 can go in the cobalt SS

the bell housing bolts up but the shift mechanism is totally different both in the casting shaft entry and the actual external operation. It just wont work unless you are prepared to do a crap ton of fab work. Fifth gear is marginally taller also and no lsd. if that matters.

Is the clutch depth the same so you can use the LSJ fw, clutch and TOB?

If so, wouldn't the shift cables and shifter assembly be enough?

I just said:
the shift mechanism is totally different both in the casting shaft entry and the actual external operation. I also said that if you want to convert your car to a SAAB trans it would take a lot of fabrication.
The GMPP is a SAAB clutch originally
