Anally clutched! lol

Sup CSS peeps. So I need to replace the clutch on my '08 SS/TC. I picked up a clutch masters FX300 and will be ordering a flywheel, flywheel bolts and redline trans fluid from ZZP. I figured while I was down there, I'd replace the motor trans mounts with ones from TTR. Hopefully my trans is still in good shape, the synchros are good and there are no metal shavings inside. I also thought I'd go ahead and make sure my TWM shifter was adjusted properly. I want to make sure everything in the trans is in check before it gets reunited with the motor. Would it be a good idea to order the adjustable clutch rod from ZZP to replace the factory clutch rod at the same time? Is there anything else that should be checked while the trans/ motor are separated? Is there any other parts that I might need to replace when I replace the clutch other thana the clutch itself, flywheel, TOB, and fluid? My biggest question of all... I live near Daytona Beach. Is there anyone, either in Daytona Beach, Jax or Orlando that'll be willing to help install my clutch? I'd be more than appreciative and willing to give you cash or even order up a part/ mod that you might need for installing. ******* shops want 3 arms and a leg. I only have 2 arms, so I might have to start chopping ppl up to get this **** done, lol jk. Anyways, I'd like to get a better understanding of the Cobalts which is why I want to do the install with someone more knowledgeable or who has done a few clutch swaps. (386)585-0894. Hmu if you can help out

I'd suggest at very least finding a helper, with or without experience. You can do most of it alone but removing the trans and subframe would be a little tricky by yourself and so would putting both of them back. An engine hoist makes putting the trans back in a lot easier as well if you can borrow one from somebody

Clutch pipe really has to be replaced, its $11 for it, not worth not doing.

If you were in the Texas area, I could help you do it, it typically takes me 6-8hrs from roll in to roll out and I dont use hoists or trans jacks, I have an engine support bar and hand tools.

What's a "clutch pipe"? Is it the clutch rod? ZZP has an adjustable clutch rod that I was wondering about. I ordered the stainless clutch line from THmotorsports

it replaces the line from the master cylinder to the trans. THmotorsports makes 'em. Here's the link https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/supp...ly-out-283322/

the clutch pipe goes from the dist block down into the transmission and to the throw out bearing. the stainless clutch line replaces the stock plastic line from master cylinder to dist block, different pieces, def pick up a stainless clutch line though, they are help a ton and I helped to develop it.

Got my stainless clutch line from THMotorsports. Where do I get the clutch pipe? If it's not an improvement over the clutch pipe in the car, why should I swap it out. No need to fix if it ain't broken.

You can get the clutch pipe at the dealer. It's less than $15 and you change it and the TOB just because there's always the chance they can go bad and to change them you have to drop the trans. So you take the opportunity to do so while the trans is already out

basics really, be careful removing the throw out bearing torx screws, they are easy to strip. replace the throw out bearing. and be sure to refill the trans with new fluid when your done.
