Is anyone running an ACT clutch?

apparently spec is garbage.. my block took a **** and when my buddy separated the trans from the motor he said the clutch material was starting to separate from itself. note i have only had this clutch on my car for less than a year. it was a spec 3+ with a stock flywheel. but anyways, to anyone who has bought an ACT clutch, how are they? im looking to get a 6 puck sprung clutch. and my biggest question is, do the ACT clutches come with a flywheel? thanks.

yes they come with the lightweight flywheel. they are rated to 435ft lbs of torque at the crank and the part number for the 6 puck sprung hub kit is GM11-HDG6

yeah, tell me about it.. well i personally never had any issues with it as far as daily driveability.. it was when going WOT, sometimes it just wouldnt go into gear.. really weird but messed me up at the track everytime i went. but im sure my clutch is toast.. i didnt get to see what it looks like yet but i will.

Heres a quote from 06Black on another forum:

"06Black:

i ran a 3+ in my car and LOVED it. but you MUST get it with the non-SAC PP or the billet PP. other wise you get a OE unit that gets stuck over center at higher rev's

and the excedy is nice, but the pedal effort VS torque capacity doesn't add up at all. my 3+ drove super close to stock. "

Reply from Steddy:

"If you're just literally buying just a clutch and getting the stocker resurfaced...a spec 3+ isn't a bad idea AT ALL"

I asked this question about a month ago. I hear act is really good, but i hear Spec is not "Garbage"

Just want to get some facts about clutches out there cuz im tired of sifting through the opinionated bullshit when it comes time for shopping for parts. Finding good info about a quality LNF replacement clutch seems hard to come by

I'm looking at getting the EXACT same clutch. lol. From the research I've done it is pretty solid. And it says it is still supposed to have the stock pedal feel as well, which would be nice. The kit runs about $700 i think.

i dont have the act its what i wanted but buying a house now and dont have the $700 to drop on the clutch. i picked up a clutchmasters stage 4 for cheap with the lightweight flywheel still not in the car yet but when i get it i will let you know how it is. supposedly it holds 535ft lbs or something crazy

stock pedal feel? nah it's about triple as stiff on the pedal, the engagement is really good and stuff, but the pedal pressure is much much higher.

hey I've been runiing on an act clutch kit for two years now n I don't drive like a lil old grandma lol I actually lent them my car so we could get a clutch made for our cars I'm running a 2006 ss/sc. I like the pedal feel its stiffer than stock but not crazy. But then again that's the organic performance disc so for the 6 puck should be a lil more tougher. This clutch has hanged for a while n been abused by accident but its a trooper.
