Automatics - B&M Shiftplus!

I just ordered my test B&M Shiftplus module for Beta test on the 4T45e!
I will let everyone know as soon as it arrives, and will take pics of install and results.

At the current time I am 99% sure it should be compatible with our transmission.

CobaltPerformanceParts will have some in stock if the Beta Test works out, so you may want to order one yourself if it works on my car!
Updates to come as soon as mine is received and installed.

EDIT:
This item is now available from Cobalt Performance Parts:

We decided to stock 10 of these. If they work out great we will have them ready for you. If not I will be able to get rid of them one way or another. Good luck Hackabuse! We hope this works out for the community.

The B&M Shiftplus is a (approx) $45 dollar black box with two wires, and a three way switch.

Two two wires piggyback into the Pressure Solenoid wire, and the ISS Sensor wire in your transmission. This modifies the signal to your TCM about the line pressure, which the TCM, in turn, boosts to a higher lever. This shortens the time between the changing of gears. The B&M has three positions on the switch (Stock, Stage 1, Stage 2) Stock is stock line pressure, stage 1 is slightly increased pressure, and stage 2 is extremely high pressure.

Stage 2 will completely remove the downtime between gearshift and will probably even cause your tires to chirp between 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts.

I can't wait to install and test this product

Damn This sounds awesome. I hate the shift lag of this car. (I miss my stick) Will It help the downshift time when I floor it? My friend was picking on my car for that the other day.

This should improve life of frictions in transmission but be harsher on mechanical parts. Good thing you can switch between the settings!

Anyone know off chance if this would be legal for SCCA Solo stock class?

I know J-Body's that have left it on the highest setting for over 100,000 miles without turning it off without problems.

I guess that's how it is when your transmission can handle 230tq stock

All shifts will be instant without lags.

Its actually a bit harsh, I honestly think people should wear neck braces with these things

That is probably true. I have just never used a shift kit before.

Think it is legal for stock class SCCA, though?

Honestly, who would know enough about the transmission to know anything otherwise?

Well, I would not want to cheat. I like to be competitive without overstepping rules. I guess I will have to look thoroughly through the rulebook for anything about this modification.

So, the only thing that it does is alter the trans fluid pressure? Do you know what stock pressure is and what the max setting of the shift kit will put it at?

no idea, but if you want an idea of what it will be like, remove your MAF sensor from your intake, and the car freaks out and bumps up the line pressure

Hack When you install this module for your test try removing the wire ends from the transmission connector, go to a wrecking yard and find a donar tranny connector and a 2-wire connector from a cavy or malibu, and make a 2-wire quick disconnect setup. That way you won't have to damage your wires by splicing them and can go back to stock if you need to -- or if it doesn't work out. If it does work out you'll end up with a more "professional" look to begin with.

That's a good idea, except the female end is the transmission, its not an actual plug, it plugs directly into the tranny
