when you guys say it shifts harder or kicks are you referring to something that feels like the trans kick shifting like hitting the gears hard or something else. If I'm not mistaken isn't kick shifting hard on the transmission?

the stock tranny can hold much more power than you can put out easily without forced induction right now. close to double the power no problem. as far as with the turbo, not really sure. guess it depends how much it puts out. at that point, i'm not sure if the B&M would hurt or help. someone with more experience should be able to help you out with that, like NJHK he's pretty familiar with the turbo ecotecs, probably as much or more than anyone on the site. all the B&M does is increase the line pressure, so i don't think it will be a problem. i do remember someone saying that people have had them running on cavaliers for a long time with no problems, same tranny.

I have a 07 LT and I put mine in this weekend and ***'n love it. Stage 2 jerks pretty hard but is it bad to keep it on stage 1 all the time. People that have autos need to get one not hard to install just be careful.

with all this talk about jerking and kicking of the transmission it makes me think that this isn't very good on the trans like it is adding additional wear and tear.

of course its not going to prolong your transmission... when the tranny bangs its shiftin the gears alot faster than normal... makes for faster car.. not 100000 year old transmission.. what are the chances of you keepin the car long enough to actually see the trans drop?

i know that its not going to prolong the life of the tranny. I do however plan on doing a lot of modification to this car and keeping it around for a long time unless i have some problems with it. It just seems that with this device banging the gears to shift faster is going to lead to extra wear and tear which in return would diminish the life of the trans

After some stocking issues at Cobalt Performance Parts, I finally got my ShiftPlus. The whole stocking problem wasn't their fault and I completely understand. But now that I got it, this thing is awesome. 1-2: my tires chirp or you can hear them skid on a road a bit. 2-3: there's still a little skid sound. 3-4: no sounds but it shifts very firm and quick on all gears.
2007 Cobalts:
The only problem I had was that the wire connections were a bit different: Black on the shiftplus connects to the Light Blue w/white stripe (normal); Red on the shiftplus connects to the ORANGE w/black stripe (different, not red; make sure that the UNtwisted orange is picked). Other than that, it works awesome. I love it. I'm just praying that I didn't impact the reliability of my Cobalt... But from everybody else's results, it seems fine.

Yea sorry for the delay on them. They are a hot item so far. Keeping them in stock has been crazier then the orders. Like I said we do have another 50 of them coming.

Mine was supposed to be delivered today, but Damn fedex held it over in Memphis, so it will arrive with my AEM intake tomorrow. Fun day after work!
Edit* Fedex screwed up and deliverd to my house instead of my work. It was waiting in front of my door when I got home. (Which makes me entirely pissed, but at least it was there)
Installation took around 30 minutes for me, since IT took me forever to find the transmission plug harness, Hack doesn't do a very good job explaining this in his walkthrough , but his pictures on page 7 of this thread show it alittle better. (when I slap in my CAI tomorrow, I'll take some pictures)
The kit comes with two wire self taps that are blue in color. They have a metal "U" in them that is slightly smaller than the diameter of the wire. Place both wires that are to be connected together at the top of the "U" , then close the plastic hinge over the two of them until it snaps shut ( I used a pair of needle nose plyers to facilitate this easier as it's cramped working down there.)
The wire's are forced down into the metal bracket, and it cuts into the plastic sheeth on both wires, so that it makes a connection with the copper inside, then wrap the whole shebang up with electrical tape.
I mounted the resistor just inside the firewall on a metal bracket that's to the left of the brake pedal. It just seemed to fit there nicely. Wired it behind the dash so the switch box is tucked away in the insurance card box on the far left. (My girlfriend will never know hee hee)
Onto performance.
The first setting bumps up the shift a notch, enough to be noticable, but still comfortable.
Second setting is almost a rough shift, but lightening fast. I wouldn't recommend using this as a daily setting because it HAS to be rough on the transmission, and it ruins the comfortable ride you would normally get with the auto.
Major props to CobaltPerformanceParts, My order was processed and shipped swiftly and I'm quite happy with the product.

Don't thank me man. Thank Hack. Its people like hack that are willing to take the risk and try new things with there cars that allow all the rest of us to benefit from it. We owe a huge thanks to him for all the sales and for keeping us informed on his progress and work on this project.
HACK FTW on this one!

Orgasmic
I love it. My favorite thing is rolling past people on the street and just giving it a little floor and watching all the stares I get, whether it's a pissed off look or an amazed look. They both get me.
About a month ago it rained pretty bad and I never got the chance to take off CAI until I got home. My filter was soaked. I just put it in front of my portable heater for about an hour and it dried quickly. For the past few weeks I had it on SRI. It seems so much louder and it feels a little more powerful than the CAI. I seriously think that an intake is the 100% best mod you could do to a 2.2. Thanks again!
