Big HP=stock flywheel bolts no good (pics)

Hey everyone this is just a heads up about the stock flywheel bolts. They are a torque to yeild bolt which should not be reused. But anyways I allecotec.com can get us some arp flywheel bolts. The package comes with eight of them. Obviously the L61 will only use 6 and the LSJ I believe uses all 8. Just email Karo on allecotec.com or carcustoms.net (sales@allecotec.com). He will give you an awsome deal.

Wish you would have posted this about 3 weeks ago.

New bolts from GM cost like $50 from CED.

You're special, aren't you?

From my experience, I think almost all ARP Nuts/Bolts require the use of a 12pt Socket.

Yup its a 12 point 19mm I believe. Just wanted to give a heads up cause I've broken 2 sets of stock bolts and it isn't cheap replacing flywheels clutches and cranks.

sub'd

Gonna upgrade to the gmpp clutch soon just looking for cheap parts and this is one of them. Just snagged a stock brand new flywheel off ebay for $50 shipped and waiting for it in the mail to see if I got screwed.

Is this a big problem with LNFs or something? There are several 300-400 WHP LSJ cars around and I've never heard of a single one shearing the flywheel bolts. (unless they've secretly upgraded to these and just never told anyone)

That's an L61, notice only 6 flywheel bolts. LSJ and LNF have 8. Attention to detail will get ya every time. Yes this is a problem with the L61 when you've got a lot of power and torque coming through the clutch. When the clutch grabs it's got a nasty tendency to break the stock ones. I've done in a couple sets, and Camron has as well.

Hopefully this solves the issue. Looks good Camron. So what are we thinkin this year...10.5??? lol
