Bouncy Bouncy Bouncy
Hello
I have the MU transmition
Whenever I shift from 1st to 2nd my car lurches and jumps as I accelerate for a few seconds. Does not do this when going to the other gears, only second.
Is this something tha I'm doing wrong when I shift? Or is something scrwewed up. Some one said I need an ingalls engine stabaliser bar, but I have one on already.

Practice. I'm still getting use the clutch in my new car. Most likely not letting the RPM's drop enough or letting them drop to much in combination with a harsher clutch dump.

I still from time to time when i'm not paying attention i let the clutch out too soon on my 1-2 and the car kinda feels like its rocking a few times... as sort of lurch->accel->lurch bounciness. you can replicate the same effect if you shift into 2nd at a very low rpm and give it too much gas by taking 1st to say, 10mph or about 2k rpm. now engage second slow and smooth, not too slow just enough so it's in 2nd gear at about 1100rpm. now half throttle it, same condition: you lurch and accelerate and lurch and accelerate until the rpms rise up a bit. it's torque management, our cars are super torquey and it'll bounce when overthrottled at too low an rpm.
you can solve your issue even if you engage the clutch a bit too fast and at too low of an rpm. you essentially want to rev match the trans input shaft speed to the engine speed... when you 1-2 next time and you engage 2nd and you feel like the car lurches a bit, don't give the car gas just yet, let the lurching settle down for 1/2 a second and throttle very liiiightly... you won't experience the issue you're speaking of and the car will accelerate normally.
of course, not 1) rev matching (which requires patience and timing, and takes a bit longer to get up to speed of course) or 2) applying a little throttle between shifts, will result in a poor shift and you'll just clank into gear a little harsh and/or engine brake a bit. Work on the 1-2 to be smooth, and even if it isn't, or you engaged 2nd belower about 1400 rpm, just make sure you throttle very lightly after you engage 2nd below that rpm and you'll be fine. then you can practice your 1-2 shift and even if you mess up you can avoid the jerkiness
The basic formula for driving this car, as silly as this may be....
2nd gear rpm is about 1/2 of 1st.
3rd gear is 2/3 of 2nd.
The rest of the gears are easy.
15mph: 1st gear to 3000rpm, shift -> 2nd gear, ~1500rpm.
30mph: 2nd gear to 3000rpm, shift -> 3rd gear, ~2000rpm.
Easy as pie.
