broken?

So my father went to move the ss and didn't know to put it in reverse that he needed to lift up on the lever to put it in reverse. Now the car won't go into reverse and makes a loose sound when. Trying to go into 2. Anyone else have this problem or solution?

Roll pin or bushing may be broken. Punch your father in the face for being a nub.

Should this be covered under warranty?
