hold the clutch for a few seconds, THEN engage reverse. if you have to do it faster than that, put it in third, then put it in reverse.

using another gear does not fix the problem. By putting it in another gear first all you are doin is using the synro of that gear to stop the spinning motion of the gear cluster. Also reverse doesn't have a syncro. well usually

Dosen't reverse use the 1st gear syncro? I know my reverse is a bitch to pop in (requires alot of force to shift while lifting the ring lockout)

either way, the problem is that the gears are all still moving even long after the clutch in disengaged.

try this ( i read it in the manual) try shifting into first, then going into reverse.

Just picked up a Centerforce DFX. Installing this weekend, we'll see how it is.

The allowable time for the gears to stop spinning is about 8 seconds, so from the time you push in the clutch at idle to the point when it won't grind, anything less than that is normal. Either pop it in another gear first, or wait 5 seconds for the gears to stop after you push the clutch, before engaging reverse.

Or, pull it into reverse very quick, it will mesh if you do it right.

There are no reverse synchros in this car.

put it in fourth gear(to line the tranny up)then put it in reverse, should eliminate all grinding

My car grinds occasionally going into reverse. If you aren't having problems with any other gears I would chalk this up as normal.
