Clutch troubles

a lil while ago i felt something funny with my ss s/c and kinda blew it off.. then yesterday i hit it kinda hard on 4th and the rpms went straight to redline...

then i came home freaked out and told my dad, and he drove and instantly knew it was the clutch and said it is bad and needs replaced soon..

i read the thing about the clutch sliping fix.. but idk if that would apply to me and if not what kind of clutch should i be looking at?

How many miles are on the clutch? Depending on your intentions with the car, id say go with the GM upgraded clutch. I just put it on my car and i am running a good list of mods and it holds great. If your heavly modded and go to the track a lot id say exedy all the way.

no its just for the 2.0l ss/sc. the clutches are different between the 2.2/2.4 and the 2.0l

If you are going to replace your clutch I would upgrader further than the GM clutch. If you decide to change your power goals you won't have to upgrade again. Our stage 4 will hold all the m62 can throw at it. Our stage 4 plus is working great on the LNF and my twincharge setup, both making over 400ftlbs and lauching on slicks. They both have smooth engaugement and we offer a few different disc options to suit you needs.

FYI: That's 400lbs\ft not ft\lbs... you cant put feet into weight-lbs..........^^^^

Too bad you cant NLS with that upgraded racing clutch.....

My clutchmasters stg3 is so bad it's doing harm to my tranny now without shifting past 4k rpm.....

Thanks for the englissssssh lesson is will be sure tooo corect mysefl.

FYI: I can still NLF shift with our racing clutch, in both the LNF and my twincharge setup. Maybe you should run our parts and you could toooooo.

NLS isn't good for any tranny but people still do it. Harming your tranny is going to happen when you mod or beat on your car.

clutch

I flush my entire brake/clutch master through everything add syntehtic higher temp brake fluid....what I found per a tsb. inspected the system and both fed through same resovoir. heating brakes raise's temp in whole system to slave cylinder. I did it at 60k and drove to 101500. But right now I'm looking into clutch and lsd upgrade.

check my profile for cars and mods
