Clutch Whining?
Clutch Whining?
So my car has done this a few times now, it was really loud yesterday after a 7 hr road trip.
It sounds almost like a staring motor (throbing whine) when i depress the clutch peddle it gets 3x louder.
The shop foreman thinks it is the slave cyl/ throw out bearing or pilot bearing.
Anyone had this happen before? or can anyone confirm that it is the TOB/Slave Cyl
P.S - Car is an 07 with 21,000kms on it...
Thanks

havent had it happen on this car , but on my old car, it was the throw out bearing, the pilot bearing would make noise if it were bad , but i dont think it would get worst when the clutch was pushed in.
and i may be wrong , but i think the slave cylinder and throwout are one piece...or at lest sold as a single unit. odd that , that would happen on such a low mileage car.

pilot bearing will make noise only when the clutch is pushed in (when the clutch is out the motor and input shaft of the tranny turn at the same speed, so the bearing doesnt turn). on 2nd thought, does the f35 use a pilot bearing??? i know the f23 doesnt, a lot of fwd stuff doesnt.
sounds like a typical TOB noise to me.
