There was a problem with the first ones. When i bought the clutch i sent it back to make sure they gave me the correct one. They sent it back saying i did have the incorrect clutch the first time sent me the new design....And still it's a piece of ****!

I meant to ask u about that can you please run a test for me? What is your redline BTW?

Place your car in 1st gear and keep the clutch to the floor. Then rev it up to redline and rev it up and down near your redline (go WOT then off then WOT then off and repeat in rapid succession). Do this on as flat a surface as possible. DO this for about 5-10 seconds. Does your car creep forward at all?

I had 3 clutches from CM the first 2 were fucked...(I still have the 2nd in my car) I sold the 3rd one since I needed the money cause I was flat broke and couldnt afford to do another swap due to their fuckups

Thanks

Dan

Means clutch isnt disengaging usually. Has anyone measured the clearances in there at all. Like depth to throwout bearing and such to see if that just isnt the problem??

Test performed. Car went no where. My rev limit is 7000 rpm. If you have any other questions or need anything else just holler.

Thanks man...guess I sent you the only working setup LOL...every one ive driven or hear of does the creep...do you have a new or resurfaced flywheel?

BTW srt-killer...It means the clutch is not completely disengaging from the flywheel putting ridiculous strains on your synrchos and gears

I have had all three clutch versions in my car, as I was the one working directly with Lonnie at Cluthmasters when I discovered the issues with their designs.

1st clutch pressure plate rubbed the bell housing = very bad!
2nd clutch wouldn't disengage at all = very bad! (wrong pressure plates put in the kits at the packaging place)
3rd clutch fit like a glove and worked like a champ = great!

The only issue I have with the latest version is that my slave cylinder squeels, and that has nothing to do with the clutch. I think I just got a bad slave cylinder. Trust me when I say that CM did everything in their power to help me out, fix any issues I found (redesign), and compensate me monitarily for my troubles. I made damn sure I was happy in the end, and Lonnie at Clutchmasters is a great person to deal with.

That really shouldnt be a clutch issue but more of an install/seal issue IMHO

Well at least they helped someone. I repeatedly asked for monetary/labor compensation. Didnt even try for the lost time or broken trans and got nothing. Hell they wanted me to pay for the 3rd clutch they shipped and I told em no...its the least they can do for providing products that damaged my transmission and making me do at least 3 installs and not reimbursing me for any costs. By that time I was soo broke from doing clutch swaps I had to sell the 3rd version which stinkbomb bought...IIRC im 95% sure my clutch has the canadian stamped on the pressure plate that is supposed to indicate the correct version... it been a while since I looked at it...cause its inside the car lol.

The one with CANADA stamped is the good one. The one with LUK stamped on it was the one that wouldn't disengage. Trust me as I still have it in my garage. Sorry to hear they didn't help you out. I got one clutch job reimbursed by Cluthmasters, and I did the rest with my buddy. I paid him a couple hundred both times as we used his work lift and we weren't supposed to even be in there or he could have been fired. I dumped and lost a lot of money on the clutch ordeal, and I'm pretty sour as well. Luckily the last version worked out great.

well my buddy at home and i both had the original version with the mess ups...CM sent us both our new clutches within 1 day of each other...His is stamped canadian I know for a fact and his creeps forward. Is your flywheel resurfaced or new? Either way this was my first and last CM product ever...just my ordeals with them have lost them 9+ potential customers in the Pittsburgh area alone not to mention on both the rl and css forums...I'm prob just gonna save and shell out for an exedy now...I will do my best to let others know of my dealing with them unless this is settled.

damn... last clutch masters clutch I used was in my rx-7 a few years back and it almost took my foot off when it exploded at 1000 miles (I was at the track 7200 rpm launch) but the act 6 puck never had a problem with them. ( and I went to the track a lot with it) .. and was in the car for 2+ years of abuse.

I will never buy another clutchmasters clutch again. It was the biggest waste of money.
