Curse You Transmission Roll Pin!!

So I have successfully broken three trans roll pins in the last three months. First was the first fri in May (the original OEM pin). Was almost late to my coworkers funeral because of it...

Second was two weeks later. The replacement I used was from O'Reilly and was too flimsy to hold up. My fault

Third was tonight. I rolled up to a redlight after highway cruising all day to find out I have no shifter when the light turned green. Pushed it 3/4 mile to my apartment. I replaced the cheap O'Reilly one with a hardened steel pin from Fasten-All (Fastenal.. w/e..?). I used the size specified in the "how to" on this site which was also the same size Mr. John Powell relayed to me. (Thanks for all the help John!!)

Now, I rarely give the car hell and bang the gears. I may do a few 2-3 pulls on the exit/entrance ramps on the highway but I have done way less aggressive shifting in the past 2 months than my usual habits in the past 4 years I have owned this car. Now, why on earth do the pins keep bending/breaking??????????

I broke my role pin with 30k on it. I tried getting one from a hardeware store, and other parts stores but they werent the same size as the OEM. Ended up calling Chevy.....noone in the country had it in stock. So I had to order it from Canada 2 weeks away. So i made damn sure i got 2 of those bastards!!

It's not a matter of having them in stock... its a matter of them not ******* breaking

Well get smart about it then. You don't HAVE to use an regular roll pin. I seen people use skinny bolts the size of a roll pin but way stronger and works well and no breaks.
