Do I need a new clutch?

I'm the third owner of my 2007 SS/SC. It has 44,000 miles. I could get around decently before I bought the car (a few weeks ago) but I was still learning when I got it. I don't think I was hard on it, the majority of wear is most likely from the two previous owners.

When driving normally, it seems fine. But a few times when I've had the clutch fully released, I try to accelerate and it keeps revving up, but I don't go any faster. This has only happened to me twice, and it's probably a sign of wear. Am I gonna need a new one soon? Is it fine to drive like this for awhile?

It was supposed to get checked out last night. I work at a dealership every night, so I'll ask them again today. I heard that in the 07 it might be covered by the warranty? I'll pay for it if I have to, probably not yet.
