F40 install
Any F40 swapped guys out there? I bought the trans and kit but have ZERO instructions. I dont know if ZZP forgot to include them in the box or not. Also my box wasn't taped properly and a bolt fell out onto the floor so lord only knows if I have all the right stuff. Really could use the help, pretty sure ZZP has black listed me and stopped answering my emails.

As Paintballerr said, they have been busy moving. Tim and I email back and forth once in a while and he usually replies really quick and this time it has been about a day and a half, which considering they are settling in, is just fine. How long has it been since you emailed someone? If its been a long time then I can see the concern.
I installed the F40 in my car, and it was really straightforward. Pretty self explanatory where everything goes. Follow the GM build book as if you were changing the clutch on the F35. The mounts and axles and things for the F40 only work one way so you cant really put anything in the wrong spot. Then you know where the shifter and the cables go. Just dive in and it will be completed before you know it.

I didn't really take any pics during the install, and you can't really see much now that its all together. The "ZZP" engraved bracket goes on the top of the trans to mount into the new one that you put into the frame, and the more L shaped bracket goes on the back of the trans and the factory rear trans mount bracket bolts to it.

For the amount of mechanical ability it takes you should be able to do it without instructions. There are only so many parts to the kit and they can only go one way.

i think a picture is worth a thousand words. I did not have time when i was there, but if you can find someone who was at the CED meet this summer, maybe that someone took pictures of the F40 conversion that ZZP had on display , get those pictures, and you are set. Pretty much.

got the kit installed, Jason@ZZP was a big help, he sent me some pictures of a motor/trans combo sitting in the shop. Only thing I didnt find out was if the cable bracket required me to remove 2 bolts on the top of the diff, install the bracket, then replace the bolts to tighten them down OR put the bracket over the extended portion of the existing bolts and find some nuts to secure the bracket. I did the first option and everything seems to line up. I hope with this new setup I wont be investing in any more shifter cables. **also modified my Hurst Short Throw to work with the new 6spd bracket **

I just paid for one from them. Checked our local salvage yards and they had nothing, so I said good enough and got one from ZZP. Comes with a year warranty that way too, so I didn't mind. After putting some driving miles on I am absolutely sold on this transmission. Everything is just so smooth and effortless. The whole driving experience has changed...and I'm sure the turbo has nothing to do with that fact

I went with the regular dual mass flywheel and full face clutch. Starting to 2nd guess my decision on that just because I am not sure it will hold my power goals of 600whp, mainly because it is still pretty new so not many guys have ran them yet to see what it will hold. Feels great driving around town and hasnt had a problem holding ~450-475whp so far, but it is still new and the boost isn't cranked yet.
