Fidanza Flywheel ring gear slipped

What would cause this? I bought the flywheel secondhand but fidanza is going to fix it. Here's a giant pic.

Several things can cause that.... the wrong ring gear put on with bigger teeth... hitting the starter...

Did the ring gear move? It does not look like its fully lined up correctly on the flywheel... They are suppose to "tack" weld those ring gears on to make sure they wont move... was yours welded? Did the weld break off?

PS: When i say they i dont mean fedanza I mean anyone who makes flywheels "should" weld them on.

The ring gear moves now, and the shop that was putting it on for me was hesitant because of the slip. So they called Fidanza and they (fidanza) said would fix it. If I pick up the flywheel and shake it around you can hear the gear clicking because it's not staying in place. I ended up re-using the stock flywheel but resurfaced it before putting it back on.

The clutch pedal seems fairly light compared to what it was before, but it grabs consistently so I think it's ok. Looking forward to ripping on it after the breakin.

ring gears are always an interfearance fit on flywheels, they are never welded on. when installing a ring gear you need to heat it up almopst red hot and drop it onto the flywheel, when it cools its stuck in place. the fidenza flywheel has it fitting tight on the flywheel and then 3 screws to hold it in place. no clue why it spun, hard to see what happened from that pic.
