anyone else ahve the getrag 5spd (2.2 or 2.4) it feel's like its somewhat starting to grind going into second gear. the car has 96K miles, and the waranty goes till 100K so i guess i gotta take it in soon. anyone else have this issue at any point in time? car has about 35 passes at the track and i drive it fairly hard.

 

yeah sometimes if you dont shift just right it dosent like to go in smooth. I get that once in a while.

 

im just trying to figure out if its the syncro or the Short throw. im afraid the Dealer is going to tell me my short throw caused it and not cover it under warranty

 

The dealer probably will and rightfully can blame the STS on your issue, however there definitely was some issues with second gear synchros for a while. There are new upgraded parts out now. Id get a stock shifter and head in ASAP.
