What I was saying above was that the new transmission supposedly has a new housing casting. I haven't had anyone actually confirm that, but, seeing as they tended to crack in a very specific spot, it would make sense to reform the casting in that area.

Just to be a pain in the ass, the old final drive is listed on many sites as 4.05, but it has always actually been closer to 4.04, which is of course, insignificant as well, but, while we're there... lol.
