HHR Clutch?

I was just thinking about what im going to do when I replace my clutch with the new tranny. I was originally going to just put a new stock one back in it, and then got to thinking. Supposedly the new clutches in the HHR SS and SS/TC are stronger than the stockers in the SS/SC correct? Now is this due to a different clutch disk or increased pressure from the factory? If it is just the clutch disk, an HHR SS clutch should bolt right in to my 2005 tranny should it not?

I would think it would have the same clutch. I could be wrong but if your looking to go with something close to stock I believe TTR has the stock replacement Exedy's that are suppose to hold better power then the actual stock clutch.

Ohhh I see, I have no problem with the stock clutch at the moment(until I up the power). The clutch has held like a dream and I have damn near 75K miles on my car, and its still holding strong.

yeah my stock stock one was slipping like a bitch i replaced it with a stock one and have had very little slip compared. i would bet the ss/tc ones would do quite well as long as you dont get a defective one.

I know this, but TTR says the stock replacement one held up better. Not sure how that makes any since b/c it should be the same clutch

The SS/TC clutch IS better than the SS/SC clutch. It is the same tranny so it should bolt right in. This is from the engineer that came to our ohio meet april 19th. He said all parts are bolt-on a swappable. The SS/TC also has better halfshaft/axle, most of the front end work and is all swappable to the SS/SC

Really? I pulled one out of a RL and it was an LUK brand clutch, with GM part #s on it.
