How to properly adjust shifter? (Ottp/TWM)
Hey guys, after getting my car back after installing the used 4.05 I got from Jeff Neiland (after cracking my T case on a launch), I noticed right off the bat my reverse was way out to the right, easy adjustment.
So lately ive been having grinding issues not with WOT or anything like that but simply coasting off the highway in 4th, clutch in and pushing up to 3rd clutch still in and it grinds. Also was tough to get into first at a stop yesterday, just let go of the shifter and tried again and it goes right in. AGAIN no hard shifting issues (went through all gears last night to be sure)
In addition when putting into reverse the speedometer jumps for a second. So what exactly is going on here, im assuming its a shift linkage adjustment, I do have adjustable cable clamps and a OTTP shifter, let me know what you guys think!
Thanks,
Bob

If your shifter is too far forward, you might not be going completely into gear. Try moving the shifter down towards the rear of the car a bit. I used to grind in 2nd. Simply adjusted the shifter forward and inch and was good to go
That's the thing im not sure which direction to play with, ive seen grinding going from fourth with the clutch in coasting just passing neutral going to 3rd gear. and in reverse both ONLY after the transmission was replaced
OEM 10-4059 GL4 ACD. Transmission has terrible input shaft noise. Goes away when clutch pedal is pressed in....sigh people keep telling me "All these transmissions are noisy" and that I worry too much.
So my new transmission is probably destroyed now. Thoughts on the wrong fluid being used as far as damage? It has loud input shaft noise now.... That seems rather obvious. Maybe 3000 miles on trans with that fluid
