Very nice unit, both the B&M and Hurst are top of the line

Hurst looks better but the b&m performs better (throw wise). B&m owns hurst btw...not that it matters but as far as quality I'd guess the bushings and materials are pretty much the same with exception of the knob.

I have the Hurst and love it! It feels better in my hand than the stock shifter. It took a few tries to get it adjusted correctly but once I did I'd never trade it for anything. My step brother has the same car and he drove my car yesterday and made the comment that it's amazing how something little like that can make the car feel so much different/better...

Here are a few pics...

+1 for the b&m. I have the b&m short throw and i absolutely love it. It really is amazing how something so small can change the fun factor of your daily driving. The only down side I have to it is that if there is a cup in the 2nd holder on the right side, I sometimes hit it when I shift into 5th, but its all good.

I recommend the b&m to everyone!! Its the best! If you get it, get it from aaron at ttr.

I like mine. I went through two crappy stock shifters before I got the Hurst. I think Hurst advertises a 28% shorter throw, to B&M's 30%. Never tried a B&M though.

The reverse lockout still works fine, but the stops for 5th and reverse are gone, so if you throw the shifter all the way to the right you can't get either. It's a minor inconvienience, but something you'll have to get used to.

Also, if the car has been sitting out in the sun all day, the metal shift knob will burn the **** out of your hand.

B&M does seem to be highly rated for smooth shifting.

I have a Hurst. Like it except it gets hot as hell if it sits in the sun.

B&M has a considerably shorter throw, and has a much better feel. i know 2 people who have switched from hurst to b&m and i would have done the same if i still had my car.

I've driven an LSJ with both and can't tell a noticeable difference in throw length.

You need to adjust yours. My "stops" work just fine. It "stops" where it should for 5th and reverse lockout works fine.

then something was wrong with one or both of them.
properly installed, they both feel excellent, and anyone who says they can discern a 28% throw reduction to a 30% throw reduction, is deluding themselves.

Absolutely.

B&M isn't exactly 30%. It's billed as "nearly 30%". Honestly in two PROPERLY installed shifters, they're identical and completely undiscernable.

thats....
wow....i cant believe you actually typed that.
talk about the definition of pedantic argument.

If you want to get pedantic, lets play.

tell me, are you moving right now?
some would say no.
others would say your moving at about 67000 miles an hour.
but a thousand years ago, this was not known, so even though they technically were moving, they all would say they were not.
perception is a funny thing

If you are given 2 shifters, one 28 one 30, but not told that they are different, and they look identical.
then if you are unable to discern such a miniscule difference, ones true perception of the shifters, is that they are identical no?
and if a person has no desire or need to ever measure them, then tell me, are they identical? or not?
are you moving or not?
