Iding a trans

Iding a trans

Can anyone tell me, if you are looking at an f23 trans out of a vehicle (like in a junkyard), how can i tell if it is from an hhr or a cobalt.

ID plates? maybe they have a different final drive number on it? if it has a sku plate im sure you can call GM and they can tell you what it came out of

it should have the last 8or 10digits of the vin stamped on it somewhere. that will help IDing it if you can call chevy somehow to run those digits
