Per Wikipeida

Both cars use an F35 Saab Transmission...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F35_(MU3)_transmission

I believe the ratio is the same, but dont quote me on that.

...im pretty sure they both use the 3.82 final F35....they should have identical gearing

but yes, exact same transmission, different final drives.

Nope.

The HHR SS's have the 4.05 F35.

more than likely it would be slower. 1st gear is so incredibly short in an ss/sc once its up around 250hp, all you end up doing is spinning.

4.45 would be better still thats what I run. short gears =faster elapsed time= win. penalty is noise from final drive gears, first is still short (er)

The LNF has a 3.82 final drive and the LSJ has 4.05 final drive, 1,2,3,4, have the same ratio the final drive is the only dif.

I just had an LNF tranny and two LSJ trannys apart yesterday and the LNF ID tag has the 3.82 final and the LSJ ID tag has the 4.05
LNF being SS/TC.

LNF comes in an HHR SS as well and has a 4.05 final drive F35 just like the SS/SC

And for the record I know the LNF Cobalt comes with a 3.82 final drive:

I was making sure people understood that the LNF HHR comes with a 4.05 in their F35 set up.

You are just saying that there are both options for the HHR or the LNF HHR has only a 4.05 final, either way the gears are the same the final drive is the only dif. So the HHR has the same setup as a LSJ. The trannys swap LNF to LSJ or LSJ to LNF without any changes.
