Installed clutch in Gdubs LNF

Well Geoff(gdubs) brought his car in to the shop to have his transmission replaced for shifting problems. He was iffy on replacing the clutch at first but now he is very happy he did because the stocker was shot. Some points I want to add. I installed the GM clutch upgrade on a 2007 SS( flywheel, disc, pressure plate) and I must say the install of his spec clutch was alot easier and went alot smoother. The only issue I had run into was the fywheel was worn very uneven so I took it to a friends machine shop to have it resurfaced. After instalation I was very impressed with the engauging and pedal feel of the clutch he bought, 6 puck with a sprung hub. Car had 29,xxx on it and this is how beat the cluth was.

Cool. Always good to see a new aftermarket clutch going in. Now comes the lame break-in period with no fun "spirited" driving

Either I suck at driving stick. Or. My car has too much power for the clutch. Surprisingly I still had no slip

You suck at driving stick and didn't realize it actually was slipping

theres a pdf file on how to do a clutch step by step for the lsj. just use that, i did. not worth paying 600 bucks when you can do it yourself if you have the tools.

Well I have the car back and here are my thoughts.

What i bought was a Cluchmaster Stage4 6 puck. Its very nice. Feels just like stock should, pedal is very easy nice a light. I have a tiny bit of chatter if i keep the RPM low from start.

Over all a fantastic buy

My clutch will chatter when cold so i try to let the car warm up real good before moving it.

So is your transmission okay? Or was the problem all due to a bad clutch?

Transmission and clutch were replaced. Both were causing a problem that made each other more pronounced

Its been good actually and after taking care of the boost leaks i haven't had to touch the tune in months. I still need to detune it for winter but i'm gonna wait till it really starts to snow.

I have issues getting it into first and reverse is this normal. Also my car jerks sometimes if I let off the clutch fast or if I'm in second and let off the gas. Normal? Or did I just get an excuse to buy ZZP S1 tranny?

Thats normal.. Put it in 3rd first to slow the input shaft then put in rev or 1st.

The GM Build Book would be extremely helpful, I know there with be a few differences from the LSJ to the LNF but should be a good outline of the route you should take. Ive done the swap so many times that I can have the trans out and on the floor in <45mins.
