Where's this deal with the mounts you're talking about?

Also, what kind of lifetime in miles should I expect out of the Stage 3? I realize how wide a range this can be depending on how I drive, but assuming I don't drag race from a stop, don't floor it in 5th, etc. what kind of miles should I expect out of this clutch?

Even with that its still almost totally dependant on the driver. Some people have a bad habit of riding the clutch even if they don't realise it. Lots of stop and go and other situations effect it too.

What if we assume I know how to drive as in don't ride the clutch, don't slip it to 5000rpm to take off from stoplight, etc? I mean, am I going to be replacing this clutch every 10,000; 20k, 30k, 100k miles, etc?

IMO equal or most likely loner than the stock clutch.

Okay, that's good then. I have 43k out of the stock clutch, and it's to the point where it slips in 4th and 5th if I am not careful.

Are they going to do a full face stage 3?

Please read back a few pages...

It was already stated, no company offers a true full face disc for a stage 3... It is a full steel disc with pads on it, just like a puck design... (Some call it full face, but it is not really any more than a puck disc) There is nothing wrong with puck discs, they have proven out extreamely well on the KY kits!

Reason being is clamp force, and a full face disc would never hold the power (torque). Read also the "KY Clutch - interest thread" it will explain even more on discs.

FrossB 01-19-2012 08:45 AM

we need "like" buttons for informative posts lol ^^

Don't complain if you have not contacted them. If you have issues CALL them. They will take care of you.

Originals were sach pressure plates (like south bends) they did have a couple issues, they upgraded the pressure plate brand and never any issues.

Further more those early kits are not the same kits we are selling now.

Oh I know it was the pressure plate. But I've had it for a year. Been seeing the issue for 4-5 months. All my friends that got it after me had the problem way more severe and it was always the pressure plate.

So pick up the phone, and see what they can do for you.

Not sure why you are bringing this up in our thread, as these are not the same kits, and it was way before our involment with KY... Please take this to a PM, or contact KY Direct.

I'm not saying your a bad company. Your a GREAT company. I'm telling you my issues. Also I would contact them but from what I'm understanding they want you to send your clutch in before they send you a replacement. So I'll have to pay to take it out and pay to put another back in and not have my car for awhile. I may just order one from you later. 400-500 is cheap for a clutch anyways. I would just recommend to everyone to order the Throwout Bearing with it. Mise well since its a cheap part.

What you are saying is common and normal for ANY clutch manufacture; in the process to return. SPEC, Clutch Masters, ACT, ect are ALL like that. You need to call them to work it out, not just assume....

I dont know a single person that never replaced the TOB when they do a clutch... Sounds like it could have failed, causing the clutch to fail... That is why you replace those things...

We also asked that you take this to a PM, so we can assist you; even though your kit is not what we are selling here, nor did we have any involvment in the sale. Please dont plug up our thread with these posts. ;)

Now, moving on... We have 2 more kits shipping out today. A stage 1 and a stage 3!

Chevycobaltss3 01-19-2012 11:11 AM
