Welcome ..... Bump lol.

Gremlin85 01-26-2012 02:34 PM

I'm getting excited to install mine with the TTR trans mounts. Only about a week to week and a half.

Chevycobaltss3 01-26-2012 02:36 PM

Is your trans getting rebuilt

Gremlin85 01-26-2012 02:51 PM

New one coming in. Stock :(
New Flywheel
New KY Stage 3 Clutch
New TO Bearing
New TTR Trans Mounts

I'm keeping the old one and am going to build it when I have time. I'll fix 2nd gear, install 4.45 gears and put it back in the car. :guns:

Chevycobaltss3 01-26-2012 02:56 PM

And give me Ure stockers as a spare. Hahahahahahahahah. Jk

Gremlin85 01-26-2012 03:02 PM

I'll probably need it as a spare lol

09BlueBaltSS 01-27-2012 07:34 PM

Maybe its been asked already but what kind of life expectancy would someone see out of the stage 3. I would say 80% of my driving is regular DD, 15% street racing, and 5% strip. What kind of miles would I expect 50k??

Chevycobaltss3 01-27-2012 07:49 PM

Expectations are biased on how you drive not type of miles... Meaning slipping, leaving Ure foot on pedal and keeping pressure on accident, take off ect.. now if u just did Hwy and just kept going. You'd never need a clutch lol.. as long as u didn't dog on it all the time. The main thing is breaking in... This helps life of clutch.

Everyone talks about breaking in a clutch... What is KY's official break in procedure?

Chevycobaltss3 01-27-2012 09:10 PM

Break in period for any clutch should consist of mostly city driving... Meaning don't always do Hwy .. you need a lot of forced in and outs of pressure plate so it fully breaks in . So do about 300-350 city and 200-150 Hwy

A guesstimate?

Chevycobaltss3 01-27-2012 11:31 PM

Honestly. A guess is somthing I can't give since every clutch is different... Due to the person driving it. If you drive correctly and don't always dog it and are 100% the clutch can last forever. So it all depends on the driver. If the car is mainly Hwy driven it'll last a lot longer then a city because of the clutch engagments needed in stop and go traffic.

And this is for all clutches....

And this is for all clutches....

If I already have a brand new LNF TOB sitting here than there is no need to purchase one with the clutch right?

AndrewSS/TC 01-31-2012 03:31 PM

Stage 3 just ordered with TOB/slave

JacBlackSS/TC 01-31-2012 03:34 PM

is there a upgrade discount for those of us that want the new version lol

ctn2mb 01-31-2012 03:39 PM

More like a trade in policy...

Gremlin85 01-31-2012 04:12 PM

New trans is in!

I'll be installing it along with my new KY Stage 3 Clutch, New Flywheel, New TO Bearing and TTR trans mounts on Monday morning.

I can't wait!

ebristol 01-31-2012 04:29 PM

Gremlin85 01-31-2012 07:39 PM

I too bought a brand new stocker.

TurboTechRacing 02-01-2012 11:19 AM

Stock flywheel is best for the KY kits IMO.

Chevycobaltss3 02-01-2012 02:40 PM

Installed another ky clutch in Alabama. Came here for a injector issue in a lnf. And beat my lift time .. 2 hours and 55 mins... And clutch is amazing along with the feel

Are you doing this without dropping the whole cradle?

Chevycobaltss3 02-01-2012 09:45 PM

I don't remove the cradle.

AndrewSS/TC 02-01-2012 10:44 PM

How the hell do you do it then?

AndrewSS/TC 02-01-2012 11:46 PM

will ARP flywheel bolts clear the disc? or should i get oem?

Chevycobaltss3 02-01-2012 11:48 PM

I suggest getting stock.

interested in how you do this as well.

Chevycobaltss3 02-03-2012 03:11 PM

Remove drivers side cradle bolts and leave the passenger bolts 3/4 in. And remove cv axels and ect... I don't recommend any lighter flywheel on a dd car.

TurboTechRacing 02-06-2012 04:42 PM

All kits shipped out! More ready to ship!

Gremlin85 02-06-2012 09:30 PM

Stage 3 clutch goes in tomorrow. Delayed one day but you can't rush this stuff :)

I'm excited to be able to put down the power I actually have

09BlueBaltSS 02-06-2012 09:37 PM

^x2

Gremlin85 02-07-2012 11:52 AM

Car is being worked on. I'll have it back tomorrow and give my initial response to feel and whatnot.

Break-in is 500+ miles so it'll be a few weeks before I can lay into it.

TurboTechRacing 02-07-2012 08:42 PM

Awesome! More shipping everyday!
