Linkage problem?

Today I had my brother pick the car up from the muffler shop and on his way home he could only get 1,3,5th. I've had sloppy shifter problems since I got the car. It manuvered while in gear. Could this be on the tranny or under the centre console?

Most likely it is the shift linkage. Is this an SS/TC? What model is your Cobalt?

Mine is supercharged. I know it's the linkage but I
Am wondering where it might have slipped. Apparently getting a short shifter helps?

I think it is the the roll pin. I will check to make sure. I just wanted to see if this is common with our cars

Good luck, I hope its your roll pin. That could easily be an internal issue
