Angry local dealership says both trans fluid are the same??

went to my local dealership yesterday to pick up some trans fluid for my 06 ss/sc and the guy behind the counter is telling me that the gm 88862472 & 21018899 trans fluids are the same. the only difference is that one is an american p# and one is canadian.. tried arguing but made no headway.. the local napa store sells redline mt90.. has anyone else used this fluid?? i know there is a thread saying it is safe for our cars, just wondering if anyone has used it..

He is not even close to right, however, you can use either.

The 210 part number is the SS/SC fluid
The 888 part number is the SS/TC fluid

You can use either in the SS/SC transmission. The SS/TC fluid replaced the former and is backwards compatible. I would only use OEM.

Yep, $21 vs $30 here, but then you have to have it shipped, then it's going to get held up in customs for at least 3 days because USPS doesn't submit their customs info prior to the package crossing the border like UPS, FEDEX and DHL do.

So I am using an LSJ transmission in my LNF, once Powell gives it a rebuild. Not being stupid, but would the fluid for the Turbo car be the preferred fluid? From what I see I can use either

Yes you can use either, you can always upgrade the oil, ie; using the LNF fluid in and LSJ tranny. Never downgrade, ie; LSJ fluid in an LNF tranny.

I love how you ask a question that was answered 3 posts up. Part of a forum is actually reading the responses...

You need to read my response again. Upon reading both will work, I asked about which would be "preferred". Where did it say that, Just they are not backwards compatible.
