Ever since I got my 10 SS about a year ago I have been having this slight transmission bucking. If I put it into first gear, then fully engage the clutch and then get on the throttle at about 50% the car bucks hard. It feels like there is along of slop in the transmission. I have to be super smooth with my first gear engagement for it to not buck. I either get on the throttle super carefully until it shifts into place and then put it under load, or rev it high and slip the clutch alot. I know it is not an engine mount problem as there is no perceptible movement under load. I did see on another post that this could just be how the transmission is and there is nothing to worry about. I have learned how to drive around it but I am planning to do some power upgrades soon and want to make sure everything is good. Is this a phenomenon that is common to the f35 transmission? I remember my 05 doing that around the 100k mark. It reminded me of my old Foxbody mustangs. When I would put 4.10 gears in the rear end it would do the same thing. I always coughed it up as just a low gear ratio first. Taking off smoother helped.
The buck you're talking about is right after you start rolling forward and getting into the throttle? If so it's possibly a tuning issue, if the timing table transitions from high timing to low timing quickly at low rpm but higher load it can do that, along with cam timing being out a bit

I am fairly confident that is is not a tune issue. My car is stock for one, and I can feel the engine catching up to the drive train on acceleration. When I take my foot off the gas it also lurches as the resistance of the engine falls back onto the drive train. Almost as if there were a tooth or spline missing and its lurching between the two teeth but I know thats probably not it.
Does it happen at around 1300-1600 rpm if you let the clutch completely load, but if you slip it a bit through 1500ish it doesn't happen?
The stock tune has the timing dip, not as bad as some have after tuning. What you're talking about with the taking your foot off the gas is related to the timing going from +30* to -2* and cutting fuel.

I wonder if you have the same bucking in 2'nd gear or higher? My 2006 (stage 2) bucks pretty bad in 1'st gear only. It lurches forward then seems to brake hard, about 2 or 3 second cycles. That was when I bought it 3 years ago anyway. I figured it was just me and a natural frequency created by the inherent torsional springiness of the transmission and shafts. Poke at the accelerator a bit in 1st gear and it does it perfectly and won't stop till you either stomp on it or remove your foot from the accelerator and even then it might only slowly taper off.
After driving it for a few months, I got used to it and I'm able to keep it from doing the bucking thing. I think it just takes time to get used to driving it. And all the other gears never show any sign of that bucking thing. Just a thought.....

I've had the car 3 years and put about 30k miles on it. In the next month or so I'll be putting a 6 speed F40 trans in so it'll be interesting to see if that bucking thing persists.
