Lsd

does anyone know if the lsd on the ss/sc can be bought aftermarket and put on a ss/non-sc?

yes u can buy the LSD aftermarket but its costly. $1,500.00 for the part plus the cost of labor. as far as putting it on the 2.4 ss, im sure u can

No, you can't, the transmissions are different. Quaife has one for the Getrag in the 2.4, though. You just can't use the same one for the FGP35 from the SS/SC.

Quaife makes a unit for the F35 transmission and one for the F23 transmission that is in both the Cavalier and Cobalt. Two seperate units. Both retail out at $1,445 last I checked.

And while it is possible, it is actually cheaper to buy a trans with the LSD already installed and return your old one on core. Some people here have already done it.

im not sure i understand what you are saying...and can anyone gimme a link for that lsd?

I am saying that it is possible to remove your transmission, buy the Quiafe LSD, have your trans taken apart, have the LSD installed, have the trans put back together and reinstalled. But it would be cheaper to buy a trans that already has the LSD installed, like finding a used unit that was removed from a G85 equipped SS and selling yours, or buying a Remanufactured one and returning yours as a core unit.

thats exactly what i want to do but i think the only way to do that is to order from the dealer as of now. and who knows how much that is.
