Luk lsj clutch kit???

Hey all,

time to do a clutch job on my 06 SS. I'm on a pretty tight budget and will have to do this as cheap as possible. I was curious if anyone has used or heard about any info on the luk clutch kit for the ss/sc. I've used luk kits in the past, but never on a slightly modified car.

I'm on rockauto, currently looking at the luk clutch along with the ams flywheel. I will grab bolts and other accessories from ced. Are the arp flywheel bolts worth it, they're actually cheaper than factory bolts from ced.

what are the bare minimum parts I would have to have? Clutch, flywheel, new bolts, clutch pipe, fluids. Anything I may be missing? I do have the upgrade shift bracket I've yet to install, as well as the roll pins.

any help is much appreciated. Tia.

the luk clutch is just a stock replacement. ive put hundreds of them in other cars, i put one in a stock ion ss/sc and it worked fine. really, it depends on how modded you are.

if you can id recommend going for the gmpp clutch kit.

Thanks Sharkey. After a little searching around, I've came to the same conclusion. I'd rather spend a little more now than have to do it again later. Looks like it's ramen noodles for a few weeks. Lol .

I'm not heavily modified, but modded enough that the gmpp makes sense. 2.8",tune, header, downpipe and modded airbox.

Any opinion on the ams flywheel? Cannot find the luk in stock and refuse to pay the $450 gm wants.

They have the LuK in stock for just under $120, it's actually where I ordered mine from(I got one stamped Germany and not China). No experience with the AMS one, so can't say.
