hah oh i know bpack was kidding around. Mainly pointed to the idiots who were serious.

Just got done putting the adapter on, took all of about 5 minutes. I cut the elbow right where it started to go straight. On the genuine sabb website it says you need atleast 1/2" of post for both to grab so I left all I could. It also said the screws should line up with the 3rd gear position. The kit comes with loctite, 2 screws and the adapter. It's deff. heavier than what I cut off so maybe it will act like a weighted knob does but overall it moves the position down about 3/4" and centers it under the shaft where originally it was kinda to the left. Here are the pictures I took, now just waiting for the knob and boot to come in so I can see how it all works.

cut the elbow off

this is what you get in the kit

The cut line is right below the bottom bolt. Here you can see the difference

All done and ready for the knob to come in so I can install it

Wondered how this piece worked with our shifters. Feeling where 5th and reverse are at I think you might have some fun finding 5th occasionally. Interesting idea, is that cable going to clear the tunnel though? I know it's pretty close on the stock one, haven't measured it though.

No instructions but they do have a .pdf in the description for the part. Thats how I found out about the 1/2" post and the bolts needing to face inline with 3rd gear on the knob, basically straight forward.

Not sure how close it will be but if anything gets in the way I will update it here. I just updated the other post, it adds 3/4" to the length to the bottom of the shaft

I got the shift knob in today and I couldn't wait so I put it in. The knob is smaller around then I thought it would be but it will work for now. Finding 5th isn't really that hard and the throw got noticably shorter. As far as the gold piece and the cable clamp hitting, it is really close to the bottom of the plastic piece but it doesn't hit and since it doesn't get pushed down at all it fits without any cutting. Now pictures and a video of the throw, once the boot is in I will post a picture of it.

I cut the white piece a little shorter because I wasn't sure how low I wanted the knob.

and the video!! kinda shitty, was trying to shift but not have my arm in the way.

Thanks, it feels so much better once you actually drive it. Coming in to work today I just wanted to keep shifting. Just a flick of the wrist and it goes into the gears. I am not all that happy with how small the shift knob is so I see it getting changed out eventually but overall I have to say I am really happy with it.

I will be posting more pictures once I get the boot next week, is there anything specific you want to see before then? Does anyone know a good place to find shift knobs that have the 3 set screws to clamp it on? I don't have a tap set to thread it and I don't know how easy it would be to tap anyway.

I feels really good, alot of the side to side slop is gone and finding 5th really isn't that hard, I haven't missed it yet. The throws are nice and short and I think it actually brings out the effect of the base bushings a little more. Everything is just nice and tight now, I am really happy with it overall.

I wanna cut mine only a 1/2 inch or so and I want a weighted knob. I hate not having a weighted shift knob.
On my old civic I could blow my shifter into gear if I wanted. Lol.

I did cut quite a bit off of mine so there isn't really much leverage to get it in gear. It's not hard by any means but it's not going to blow into gear either. Since you have a spare you can mess around with it until you have the right length, I just went for it and hacked off what I thought would be good and I like it.

Thanks! I just got an email from Redline saying the boot is shipping out today and I should get it within 6-10 days. I'm going to see what I can do about my boot for now to make it fit tighter up top. I think the way the boot sits now it looks like Mr.Chows dick, all bush and a tip.

Just installed my bushings and adapter from GenuineSaab yesterday! Its so much better, you definitely can feel a shorter throw and its a lot tighter. It doesn't have that sloppy loose feel anymore!

I recommend this to everyone, for $80 shipped and the 3 days it took to get here, definitely worth every penny!

I'm glad someone else finally bought the adapter. I couldn't believe how much different it made the shifter feel and how much it tightened everything up. Still waiting on my shift boot to come in, yesterday was a week since it shipped out so any day now.
