Motor Mounts

I was looking into getting motor mounts. What aftermarket motor mounts are every1 using and how is the vibration in the cabin after they are installed?

I was looking into:

http://cobalt-addiction.com/performance.htm ZZP Engine and tranny mounts

or

http://www.torqueforward.com/page2.html Their filled mounts

or

http://bwoodyperformance.com/product...cd83c7797fdc16

Please feel free to let me know what you think

I have the ZZP Billet Engine Mount and Poly Trans. Mount. Combined they killed about 90% of my wheel hop issues, but left me with a good amount of vibrations. Haven't used the other two so no opinions on them.

We just released ours, you should check them out! Many options to customize them to your needs.

On the website look under "Chevy" then "Cobalt" then "Drivetrain"

Very very nice units at a great price!

You could try making your own by filling the stock mounts w/ poly window glue. There is a thread in the how-to section.

Just the ZZP engine mount and control arm bushings took out ALOT of the wheel hop and I could hardly tell a difference in vibrations. Adding the front tranny mount eliminated wheel hop altogether, but created tons of vibration, felt like I was driving a freight train. Took a couple months for the front tranny mount to loosen up a little (and maybe me getting used to it) and now the vibration is not too bad, almost tolerable even. If your worried about vibration, my suggestion is to start with the control arm bushings and go from there, they seemed to make the biggest difference on my ride as far as controlling wheel hop.

Are those Solid, or FULL poly mounts?

The Bwoody once look to be the best for the money if you want all around mounts. They do give a good amount of vibrations, but nothing you don't get used too.

just a question i saw. Will a engine damper still fit on the mount bracket you made TurboTechRacing? It looks like it wont fit on there. Just curious

with the TurboTechRacing one you dont need a damper as it will eliminate flex all together, it explains more in the threat about the release of the mount

Are the Bwoody ones really that good? Has anyone used the TurboTech mount or the Jbody mount. Trying to decide which to get before I start buying parts.

I really like the look of the JBP one though....

I have the BWoody solid set in my car. They are great, the side and tranny mount were really easy to install, had a little problem getting the rear mount in but it would have been a pain with any mount since its a tight fit. They do give a good amount of vibrations but u get used to it. They do there job and get rid of the wheel hop, i highly recommend if you can deal with some extra cabin noise

sounds to me like the turbotech one it will be, nothing but rave reviews all around, prolly match it witha set of TAG lowers

Speaking of which, the TAG transmission mounts are available in different hardnesses of poly? Where on their site can you select which hardness you want?

They carry the prothane trans bushings, just like we do at the same price we sell them at, however we have been buying everyone prothane makes, make sure CPP have them in stock...

We have them in stock at all times as we purchase 100's at a time.
