Need a Clutch Master Cylinder?
Need a Clutch Master Cylinder?
Car has 45000mi, Stage 2, Intake, Exhaust, driven her hard. The clutch engages and disengages fine, and drives perfectly fine, unless I give it more than 15-20% throttle. I'm assuming that the clutch itself is gone and I am preparing to install an Exedy Hypersingle w/Flywheel. I'm going to replace the slave cylinder at the same time.
My question is, do I need to replace the Master Cylinder, or should it be fine.

you shouldn't NEED to. now, i ruined mine when i was attempting to bleed out the system... so, it's your call.
IMO, it's a hell of a lot easier to get to while the trans is out anyway, so...

wow I just made a thread cause my master cylinder went out. or atleast I thought it did. The actual part of the firewall that holds the master cylinder to it broke, so the master cynlider has no resistance. I too have the exedy hyper single, it's a really stiff clutch. I'm going to reenforce the wall with a washer, whether you replace yours or not, i would consider welding a washer there as well, the metal part of the firewall may not be strong enough.
