We feel the stock cast mount is not strong enough to hold up to the added strain of an increase in the cars HP and trying to hold that mount in stiffer. Rather than having parts break, we built it right. Starting with billet and designing a superior mount from scratch.

I have an Ion Red Line and I took my front transmission mount out today to install the poly one and my stock mount doesn't look like the trans mount I've seen in any pictures. It is so different that the ZZP one doesn't fit.

There are other Red Lines that the mount looks similar to the stock one shown on the ZZP site, so I don't get it. Anyone have any ideas as to why my mount would be so different?

I've had no luck with my WR-Damper, even got the new brackets. And the poly mounts will make some vibes, so what other ways are their to stop wheel hop. Coil-overs?

I just want to make sure it's clear that the ZZP trans mount will work on the SS, it looks very similar to the one Chevypowered installed on his car. The mount on my car is just weird for some reason.

Ok....first i deleted my other post about the old mount. Everyone again, beware the stock mount it is a POS and tears easily.

The new ZZP mount causes alot of vibration because it is stiff as hell. The vibration is not for everyone so beware this before purchase. However, i feel the vibration is well worth it since the shifts are now soooo crisp and the throttle response is greatly increased as well.

Install was pretty easy and the mount fit perfectley. 3 18mm bolts are all that needs to be removed.

I am going to take a video to see if the vibes are noticable from outside the car will hopefully be up later today or tomorrow.

Hey Retrop you didn't have to delete you thread, i would like to see some pics of the new ZZP mount. The vibes are really bad when you first put it on but they mostly go away after a few thousand miles. Theres a huge difference between when i first got mine and now.

Back from a more extended ride and i can say the wheel hop is gone with just the two ZZP mounts. I would not recommend having the 2 mounts plus the engine damper on the car. The vibrations were just too rough and there is no wheel hop w/o the damper. The vibrations cannot be heard outside the car and the exhaust note seems to have gotten deeper as well, but it might just be other noises.

Side by side pic

You can see the one of the holes in the stock mount. The rubber on the sides that are not thick are completly torn apart.

WOW that mount looks poor compared to the one i got from RSM racing.

I don't mind paying another $100 for better quality parts. I'm glad i made the choice to get the one i did.

No it didn't fit, I was pretty bummed out. I talked to Zoomer and he said something about maybe making a custom mount. I sent him some pictures of my mount and am just waiting to hear what they might be able to do for me.

RSM racing is over priced. They don't carry very many products anyways.

Sure its more expensive but the quality looks much better, you get what you pay for. Instead of have a two piece design that is held together by welds i have a single piece of alunimum that is stronger. Plus it looks like mine has a greater thickness of metal arouund the bolt holes.

Feels good, the vibes have mostly gone away but i still get them at ow RPM's when the engine is under load. There was no differeence in vibrations when i put the motor mount on but i did get less wheel hop/engine movement so they are both worth it.

I would trust the RSM much more. There is alot of force of the tranny mount and i wouldn't want to take chances. Sure its 100 more bucks but personally i think its a better build quality. The RSM is a solid piece of metal, nothing welded or attached. It also would give you less wheel ho than the ZZP since there is less movement allowed in the material. When i first got mine on i thought i wasn't going to keep it but now i hardly can tell its there. Generally i don't go the cheap route and in the end it pays off.
