With what I'm looking for should I invest in Stage 1 or 2 mounts?
I have a 300+ tvs and do regular track lapping and testing. Stage 1 works for me... rarely do I go to the drag strip, I am afraid of the perfect hook so dont want to explore the limits of the transmission on drag radials on a well prepared strip...coz the trans will break with no wheel hop and that sort of torque.

For road racing stage 1 is wunnerful....

No

They are designed for lsj/lnf (manual) cars only.

Had the OTTP stg2 for almost a year now. Still think is the best mod I did to my car. Wheel hop was the most miserable thing about driving my car. The day I installed the mounts the problem became nothing more then a memory.

What exactly are you asking about performance?

Stage 1 is for under 300 WHP applications. Stage 2 for higher. I would always recommend Stage 2 just so you get both front and rear mounts and in case in the future if you ever decide to do something drastic with your car (i.e turbo, tvs) then you'll be fine. You would be perfectly ok right now with Stage 1 but the decision is really up to you whether you believe that you'll stay under 300 WHP or if you believe one day you will pass that mark. THEN you can make a decision on which Stage mounts you want.

stage 1 was recommended for road track or autox while stage 2 is for drag. Because stage 2 is stiffer you'd want that for drag.

o iight. i was askin just wen i read the description on ottp it would talk about more power to the ground wit stage 2 so i figured there was a lil difference in performance or sumthin that made 2 better then 1 even if i was under 300

^^ I understand your question now. Basically, like northvibe said Stage 1 is good for road/ track or autox and Stage 2 is good for Drag. If you are talking about merely putting more HP to the ground then Stage2 provides a stiffer ride and will accomplish this for you, BUT if you autox or anything similar then Stage1 would be a great application. It really all depends on how you drive your car (Autox or Drag) and what kind of power you're planning on putting down. That will be the effect on performance.

Why do people care about the vibs? They aren't that noticeable. Even with my full poly mounts. I'm switching to rotated mounts soon

they aren't that noticable are you kidding me!? When I bought my car everyone told me to put solid or poly trans mounts in my car before adding more power to get it to the ground better so I ended up buying a set of Avid tranny mounts which are very high quality product. I bolted them in as directed and when I fired it up I thought my dash was going to fall apart. I tried everything loosened them a bit and drove it so they would settle in position properly, then I was told they needed to "break in" a bit but they never got any better. People would get in my car and be like isnt this car brand new? why does it rattle or they would think I was almost stalling it when taking off cause of the vibes. Anyways I sold that **** and finally solved all of my rattles.

Oh on top of that it only helped the hop sure wasnt a solve. OTTP stage 1 or 2 is the only option for me if my car was a 90's clunker i'd put solid or poly mounts in or if it was a race car id run solid other than that for a dd it's just stupid

Ive got stage 2 OTTP. I havent ridden in a poly mounted car, but the Stage 2 mounts make engine noise more pronounced.

Note that i am on totally stock turboback exhaust, and someone with loud exhaust may find the increased noise imperceptible. But my GF was immediatly aware that the car was louder. The mounts, clutch and tune make the LNF feel pretty serious... Its fun, but now i need some downpipe whistle

I just had this installed at the dealer since they were replacing my engine anyways.

The vibration is quite noticeable.
It is especially harsh at low rpms and at start up.

I suppose that this is the point tho.. Can you have a solid setup without vibration? I dont know.

really? no vibes? hmm.. Everything sounds louder now, and there is significant vibes.

Yea... I am starting to get the same feeling. My dash is rattling only a bit, but man.. the engine is loud inside now. I'll see how it goes.. I really just wanted to prolong engine and tranny life by reducing the movement. I don't care too much for the excessive vibes tho

If you just installed it, you have to let it break in.

if they are OTTP mounts and they vibrate like that they are not installed right. Dealers dont read the work shop manual either...

as stated, the vibration has gotten better as they have broken in. Thanks all for the reassurance.
