performance clutch noises
i was wondering if there were any strange ticking noises or any at all i should expect to hear from an aftermarket/racing clutch... or should it be completely smooth? also, is a new flywheel a must?

if you get a 6 or 4 puck you will hear chatter but it is normal, that is what they are suppose to to do, you can only really hear it during deceleration while in gear, if you push the clutch in the noise goes away
Lift the front of the car, climb under and look at the small sheet metal shield that is held on with two 6 mm bolts, right next to the starter. Sometimes it gets installed wrong and will make a ticking noise. If it is, you will be able to see that it is contacting the teeth of the flywheel. Either reposition it or bend it off of the flywheel teeth.
darklord, it sounds like my orginal clutch problem. Mine did the exact same thing. It was the slave cylinder inside the trans that was making that noise. Did you replace the slave cylinder with the new clutch, and did you resurface the flywheel?
