I put a new clutch in my 05 Cobalt 2.2L. It is just a clutch exready (spell?). Now I am have problems with it going into gear. It is very hard and have to slam it in and it will grind 3rd and 4th. When I started it this morning (day after clutch install) it wouldnt go into 1st. Any Ideas? Thanks
Alright I did bleed the clutch. And after reading your post I did it again. Its better but something still dosnt feel right. I can up shift throw all the gears with only a little grind sometimes in 3rd but I can not down shift into 4th or 3rd with out if grinding the **** out of it.
Did you use a vacuum bleeder to get all the air out or just the bleeder screw on top of the trans?
You need to vac bleed it from the master cyl.
Pump the pedal 10 times, apply vacuum for a min or two, release vac slowly & pump, apply vac ect. Repeat until satisfied.
If that doesn't do it, you need the ZZP adj clutch rod so you get a bit more throw out of the clutch cyl & to raise the pedal a bit off the floor. It's a b!tch to change though.

Have exeedy clutch same problem
Had to power bleed. Very hard to do sometimes takes a while.
finally after second mc replaced with aftermarket mc (welwood) Also replaced pedal.
Next problem had to reinforce the firewall since an aftermarket clutch puts extra flex on the firewall.
